GIORGIO ARMANI – ONE NIGHT ONLY
On 31st May 2012, Giorgio Armani orchestrated a major PR and marketing event for the Armani fashion label in China - ‘One Night Only in Beijing’. With an entourage of the world’s fashion journalists, an assembly of 163 runway models and Mary J Bligh as star performer it was a swanky do, with a roll call of A-Listers.
In the lead up to the event, Armani – with his omnipresent entourage – conducted interviews, seminars and promoted his label impressively. Backstage at the big event, Armani oversaw the machinations of the runway to showcase his latest seasonal fashion. Amid the media spotlight and entourage, the 79 year old Armani sometimes appeared a lonely figure, the consideration of a successor to the helm of the fashion empire he built never far away.
